Live Well Health

Urgent Care

We’re happy to refill long-standing medications (ex. depression meds), to provide antibiotics when appropriate, or manage minor medical issues. We are not able to manage dangerous medical issues online. If you have any of the following, please proceed to an emergency department instead:

Chest pain, Passing out, Difficulty breathing, Unusual swelling of the legs  (edema), Inability to urinate, Prolonged vomiting and diarrhea resulting in inability to stand, new or unusual lumps or masses

Minors

Live Well Health is unable to diagnose or manage pediatric patients (any patient under 18 years old).

Documentation of Diagnosis

Certain conditions may require documentation establishing diagnosis. We may ask that you upload documentation from an in-person provider or hospital to confirm the diagnosis. An example would be an imaging report showing spinal stenosis to initiate lyrica.

Controlled Substances

Our clinic cannot prescribe benzodiazepines (xanax, klonipin), amphetamines (adderall, vyvanse), codeine syrup, fioricet (butalbital/acetaminophen), soma, tramadol or opioid pain medications, ketamine, or hormone therapy (testosterone, estrogen).

Gabapentin or Lyrica

We provide medication up 30 to 60 days at a time (depending on the state) and a maximum dose up to 2400mg daily (gabapentin) or 300mg (lyrica). Repeated early fills or overlapping prescriptions from other providers will be noted and we may have to discuss the issue.

Lyrica is only prescribed to those with supporting documentation (imaging and notes from in-person physicians) as well as recent labs (within 12 months) showing good kidney function. If labs are not up to date, we can transition you to gabapentin.

Hormone Therapy

Live Well is unable to manage hormone replacement, whether estrogen or testosterone, given the long-term medical risks associated with treatment. We recommend in-person clinics with periodic labs for said conditions.

Long Term Primary Care or Complicated Medical Conditions

Our clinic is happy to fill-in when needed or for short periods of time for stable medical issues, such as refilling blood pressure medications. We’re unable to properly  manage complex medical conditions long-term. These conditions require periodic labs, such as with thyroid dysfunction, diabetes, or heart failure. At the minimum, we urge you to have an in-person provider for annual labs.

Disagreement with Medical Decision Making

We understand you may have requests and preferred treatments, however the legal responsibility for decision making is vested in the physician. Physicians may need to make decisions that do not meet patient requests. We’re happy to work with you and explain decision making, however we are not able to guarantee your treatment of choice.
